Even by my standards it's been fackin' ages since I updated this. And I've actually had loads to say, as well.

For example, I was going to go on about seeing Valerie live, but Chris has pretty much beaten me to it. All that remains for me to add is that it was sort of me whom they thought was heckling them, although I was in fact merely explaining to someone I was with why even though I usually defend Girls Aloud, I wasn't about to disagree with Valerie about it - how ironic.

Oh, okay, here are some other thoughts, cut-n-pasted from a review I've written but - stupid stupid lazy me - haven't sent off yet to an unnamed publication:

...scowling, and invective, and come-n-have-a-go-if-u-think-yr-hard-enuff vibes... Bikini Kill would be too obvious a reference point – Valerie remind me more of... Julie Ruin... fuzzy technology, and lots of yelled choruses… I hear a little Fall... Comet Gain... sounds a little bit like rap now and again, in the way that all the best shouty, madcap, DIY music sounds a little bit like rap to me... ‘Everything Happens When I’m Not Around’ and ‘All My Heroes Hate Me’... completely jaw-dropping, songs that by rights should have been smash hits... genuine 100% proof Outsider Anthems, perfect for anyone who ever grew up broke and indie in a shitty small provincial town... ‘Dirty Girls’, dedicated to Tanya Tucker... you don’t want yr scrappy, kick-ass Northern grrl band to have any time for wanky London boys.... some of my heroes have just the right amount of contempt for me...
