Ghostface Killah descended the marble staircase of one of his many palatial homes, his imposing figure wrapped in a silk robe of crimson and gold.

"Yo son?", he called out, an uncertain note in his distinctive voice. He had awoken to an empty bed, and this disappointed him.

The smell of cooking food reached his nostrils. He reached the bottom of the stairs and padded barefoot over the genuine tigerskin rug that covered most of the hall floor. As he turned into his sizeable kitchen, his eyes lit up with delight as he saw a short, broad figure leaning over the stove, tossing waffles in a pan.

Raekwon turned to greet him.

"Mornin', son", he said, with an impish smile.

The above is dedicated to the person who found this site like this. Unfortunately the above story can go no further due to a) my ethical qualms about "real people" slash, b) my fear of the Wu-Tang's lawyers. But I hope you found what you were looking for. I HOPE WE ALL DO.

Brain broken. Things due in the next three or four days:

- a defence of Scissor Sisters from the charge of being "rockists", as claimed by Chris in a recent txt message.

- musings on the first few episodes of season 1 of Six Feet Under (I now co-own a boxset; I am a lucky boy in many ways), probably leading into discussion of the series as a whole thus far.

- the previously mentioned musings on Sarah Jones v. "hip-pop", including a dangerous invocation of the idea of pro- and anti-sex feminism (can open, worms everywhere).

That's one a day over the next few days. The week after: I will probably have to buy the Kelis album, on the basis of having heard 'Keep It Down'.

We will get to the longer, chewier stuff, but for now, breaking news:

2 Play featuring Raghav - 'So Confused' = TUNE!
Serious quotation of the day (and this should be the epithet for the longer blog entry I'm working on at the moment):

"A given socio-historical moment is never homogeneous; on the contrary, it is rich in contradictions." - Antonio Gramsci

How did I manage to miss reading (about) Gramsci until now? I think I'm in love.

PS: Silly Adorno, dancing is GOOD.
Impenetrable-for-non-UK-peeps quotation of the day, from I Love Music:

"I can't even read the name "Moloko" without seeing Jools Holland with one arm outstretched beside him saying "Moloko" in a definite way." - mark grout

Of course, I can't even read the name "Jools Holland" without sharpening my special sharp sharp stabbing stick...

Is Owen Wilson the most beautiful man ever to walk the face of our good Earth? Latest evidence suggests 'yes' (and incidentally, does anyone else get the feeling that Snoop's entire career thus far has just been a rehearsal for his role in this movie?
